not necessarily. The energy around them when they fly is taken from dragon ball, that's about it.
The old fat guy with the glasses (Master Jubei) surprisingly isn't, though I can see why someone might argue he is.

the thing about dragonball Z is... it's not an idea that people wouldn't commonly think of on their own anyways.

flying characters? alien enemies trying to destroy the planet? shooting out energy beams from the hands?

so now whenever someone is shooting out energy, even if the person (somehow) never heard of dragonball z, if their character is shooting out energy, people will say the idea is from dragonball -_-

The idea is to parody video games a little bit. I was going to have their life bars in there too, so you can see how much life they have left but decided to leave it out.

A few people mentioned that Umichan Dark Winter was DBZ influenced T_T;
why? just because Maiko was running? and because I zoomed out to show explosions?

Look Marvel and DC were first way before Anime ever did any action. I just point to one. Anime copy from Superman and they copy of a hyper war with X-Men.
Dragon Ball the energy making them self stronger game from the Hulk. The Hulf gets stronger every time you piss I'm off more. He gets to the point of the level of DragonBall.....Yeah I read the Hulk Comics Hulk can kick there asses that a blast of a Nuke doe shit to Hulk. Just pisses him off even more.
Anyway you should tell them Dragon Ball got it from Superman, he can do the same thing pro. Fly very fast and punch kick. All you see it's the eco impact in the sky.
The reason why I said DBZ is becuse some of your characters look like DBZ characters. As for flying for me Superman did it first.

Why DBZ? I think the Umichan series is really nothing like the DBZ stuff. Im not even an expert.

I still hate how people do that tho, just assume something must be a copy or a rip off of another thing that came before it. Like saying Halo ripped off DOOM because its an FPS and you shoot aliens with guns. That's why i really don't try to compare to things that look similar because they may not even be influenced the way you thought. If people immediately compare it to DBZ, they really don't watch anime or read manga.

Its just a case of "SIMPSON'S DID IT!", people will think your not original or ripping off something that came way before it be cause its popular and its basically done EVERYTHING.
