Right now I'm trying my friends copy of 3D Studios Max. I must say wow it's a cool 3D development tool.
Ever heard of it? What I like about this one is when your making your 3D models, there are four screens on each side. Four split screens to see your models. It have some good tools. Now is it better than Blender? Not sure have to start practicing. Trying every tool there is on 3D Studios Max. Blender is free open source, but 3D Studios Max is not free. Don't get me wrong for a open source, Blender is a beast in it's own way. Just doesn't have every tool that professional use. Like the Xbox 360 tools that have a auto A.I that is smart enough to know that with light everything reflect. It makes the shadows and light for you when you use it. Yeah my friends father works with the 360. I'm so lucky to see the tools of a real development tools for a video game system.
I wish Blender had that in there program. Well you get what you pay for.
What programming tools have you found useful?
P.S My friends father said that it is better to use multiple tools from different company's. Because some tools do things better than the other. Using the tools that works best will make it much more easier. I did his advice with M.U.G.E.N,wow he is right!

It takes me 2 to 3 hours to make one character set with moves. To put in a fighting game. It was cut through shortcuts saving me 25 minutes. What content I put can take longer on just one fighter. He also tells me the head, chess, arms, legs and other parts always save them. Never erase them, you can always recycle and use it again for a different character. If you have a idea and don't have the time to put it in your project. Save it for next time. I ask why? He said cuz you'll always have new ideas. Fantasy is infinite he tells me. You'll keep think and keep going back to make it better. Than you'll never finish your project. In this business that is a no no.
Here I am thinking CAPCOM that made Street Fighter and other fighters alike from them. Use the same sprites over and over again. I was thinking there just lazy attitude. Now I can see why I don't blame them anymore. We have all the time in the world with our stuff. But these guys get payed to make a game on time. And time is money for these guys.
Anyway sorry if I'm off topic.
It wasn't a DoE rent but I was schooled by a real professional developer. Just wanted to share it with you. It's always a good idea to hear a advice from those that do the real thing professorially for a living .
